INTRO TO ACRYLIC MEDIUMS— Students will paint a Textured Seascape using multiple acrylic mediums and brush techniques. Guiry's Art Dept. Manager claims the most commonly asked question is "how to use acrylic mediums?"

    — gridding
    —-sculpting w/ acrylic mediums & household items
    — modeling gel, pumice paste, glass beads, & crushed peppercorns
    — mixing colors
    — gradating color [blue to green] & values [dark to light]
    — importance of paint viscosity
    — faux painting [exaggerating shadows; creating depth]
    — glazing with color washes using mediums
    — highlighting
    — using matte and gloss finishes
