Let's learn sewing skills and use our imagination to craft some stuffed creatures! We will learn how to transform a 2-D image into a 3-D form, some beginning pattern drafting skills, and how to add embellishments to our new fiber friends. Our first class will cover hand-sewing basics, some embroidery, button sewing, and how to join fabric pieces. Students will construct a 3-D sampler before moving on to their final plush pal. We will then spend some time drawing possible ideas. These images will be transformed into our patterns, that will become stuffed creatures, so we will spend some time figuring out how to transform these images into 3-D objects. Students will spend the remainder of their time decorating and constructing their creations as they see fit.
