On August 13th lookup in the sky with your eyes you should see a few meteors from the Perseid Meteor shower. Also the great stars of the summer triangle Vega, Deneb, and Altair will glow like diamonds in the night sky. The planets Jupiter and its 4 moons and Saturn with its icy rings should adorn the sky as well. Seasoned professor/astronomer Mark Freilich will lead each of these interactive astronomy programs. Each program features an indoor question and answer session on basic astronomy, fun and games followed by exciting outdoor viewing using a professional telescope. Participants are welcome to bring their own telescopes and binoculars. Handout information packet is included. Limited to 20 participants. (although this is an adult workshop, children ages 9 and up are welcome to register as long as they are accompanied by a participating adult). Funded in part by Capital One Bank.
