Spring Bird Walk for Beginners

Family Program | This program is completed

Adults, children ages 8 and up (children must be accompanied by adult)

Saturday, June 10, 2017 (one day)

9:30 AM-11:30 AM on Sat

Walk through APEC’s trails, accompanied by a member of Queens County Bird Club. Try to spot our various species of birds – both the year-round residents and the multitudes of warblers migrating through at this time. Listen for their spring songs. Learn to use binoculars and a field guide. Wear long pants, due to poison ivy. Wear hiking shoes, sneakers, or other closed-toe shoes that you won’t mind getting muddy. Bring binoculars if you have them. Although this walk is free, pre-registration is required as spots are limited. This walk will cover some rough terrain and is not suitable for persons with limited mobility. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration required. Limited to 20 participants.
