Discover local ecosystems like never before! Berries, fungi, aquatic blooms, and more! During Session 1 we’ll search for plants and animals under the summer sun. In Session 2 we’ll continue our nature-based exploration, but this time for the creatures that live under the moon. We’ll look for clues of their presence, as they sleep underneath our feet. Interactive, hands-on experiments, activities, lessons, and games make this class jam-packed scientific fun! Field exploration will be used to supplement each session and encourage an appreciation for our natural environment.
All students are expected to bring a digital camera (or cell phone) to each class. Using their own cameras, students will create a personal photo log. APEC Explorers should also bring a bottle of water, head covering, and have sunscreen and insect repellant applied prior to drop off. Snack included. Limited to 12 participants.
