This medley of activities offers Chasewood Learning's STEM classes all in one week! Each day students will work in a STEM discipline focused on coding, robotics, and engineering.

Students will learn to code in Scratch, MIT's programming interface, in which they learn the fundamentals of program flow, program structure, pseudocode, to create interactive stories, games and animations.

In LEGO Robotics, students build and program robotic projects. Younger students typically begin with the LEGO Education WeDo system, which introduces students to basic robotic concepts with projects that use motors, gears, and sensors which are programmed by students using a drag and drop programming interface. Experienced and older students work with LEGO Mindstorms EV3 robot where they learn to autonomously control the robot's movements, read sensor input such as light, distance, and color, using the Mindstorms Labview programming interface.

With LEGO Engineering, students learn basic to advanced mechanical engineering concepts using the LEGO Engineering system that covering concepts such as energy, balance, and mechanics that focus on simple machines. Projects model physical behaviors such as powered cars, cranes, and wind-mills, using gears, pulleys, levers, wheels and axles and building engineering models.

In addition, students can have an opportunity to experience working with drones, 3D printer, micro:bit, and more.

Returning students will continue in their education in each of these unique fields of learning.

  • Students should bring a snack or a packed lunch each day of camp.
  • We will happily pro-rate for students who are only able to attend for certain days or partial times!
  • Please contact us for pro-rate codes to be used before registering.
