Classes will be held Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00 pm EST to 8:00 pm EST.

In the spirit of our popular Community Language Programs and adapted to the virtual environment, our Semi-Intensive course provides you the opportunity to start learning a new language, refresh and reinforce a previously studied language, or continue your journey toward mastering a language, all with a schedule that meets your needs!

This class meets via Zoom.

Minimum age for these Semi-Intensive courses is 18. Absolutely no exceptions.

  • Virtual Semi-Intensives will have a new format, organized in the same manner as our Refreshers. Now students will be able to self select for each class level.

    Topics for this level will cover some or all of the following:
    A1: Beginner


    This beginner Mandarin semi-intensive course is designed for students who are new to the language or have very limited prior experience. Through interactive activities, guided conversation, listening practice, and cultural exploration, students will develop a strong foundation in Mandarin pronunciation (including pinyin and tones), essential vocabulary, and everyday grammar. By the end of the course, students will be able to introduce themselves, engage in simple conversations, ask and answer basic questions, and navigate common daily situations with greater confidence.


    Telephone placement interviews will no longer be required unless requested.


    Tuition includes a non-refundable $20 enrollment processing fee.*


    Enrollments due by 4:00 PM ET on Monday, September 14, 2026. If space allows, late enrollments will be accepted but will incur a $25 Late Fee.
    *In the event we must cancel an offering, a full refund will be issued.

     


  • No textbooks provided or required, although you may choose to obtain texts or other materials for reference and study aids. Please ask your teacher for advice on appropriate materials.
