Sculpt, strengthen, and stretch — no ballet experience needed! Begin with the BrainDance to awaken your senses, body, and mind, then explore the expressive beauty of ballet through barre and center combinations. Build strength and balance while connecting with music, grace, and creativity in a supportive, welcoming environment.

Boost with Bronwen
Get a boost for your body and brain in this fun, energetic dance class for adults! Each week we’ll learn moves to put together into a flash mob style group dance! Get your blood pumping and boost your mood to a pop-centric playlist as we warm-up with a high-energy BrainDance followed by easy-to-follow choreography to your favorite dance hits. Let's laugh, dance, and have a good time while getting in our steps! All levels welcome, no prior dance experience necessary.

Houck, Bronwen
Bronwen Houck

Bronwen Houck (she/her) is a Seattle native, life long student of the Creative Dance Center, and daughter of founder Anne Green Gilbert. She was a member of Kaleidoscope Dance Company from 1984-1993, performing in and around Seattle and traveling with the company to Japan, Canada, Australia, and Brazil. Bronwen studied modern dance under Ze'eva Cohen at Princeton University where she earned a Certificate in Theatre and Dance as well as a BA in Art History. A professional photographer by trade, Bronwen also acts as CDC studio and Kaleidoscope Dance Company photographer. Bronwen completed the Summer Dance Institute in 2010 and joined the CDC faculty in 2014. Bronwen has taught creative movement classes and BrainDance workshops in schools and in the professional development realm for over a decade, as well as directing and choreographing musicals at the elementary school level. Bronwen joined the CDC staff in 2019 and was Administrative Director for 4 years before being named as Kaleidoscope Artistic Director in 2023. Dance is her very favorite thing.

Skeers, Elana
Elana Skeers

Elana Skeers (she/her) holds a BA in Dance from the University of Washington. Originally from Southern California, she has trained, performed, and taught dance across Southern California, San Francisco, New York City, and Seattle. Elana has performed works by Robert Moses, Jesse Obremski, Alana Isiguen, Rachael Lincoln, Ronald K. Brown, and Savannah Dunn, among others. She has taught Creative Dance, Ballet, Tap, Contemporary, and Jazz to dancers of all ages and levels. Elana aims to provide dancers a safe space to express themselves honestly and joyfully and is excited to share her passion for dance at the Creative Dance Center.
