Join us for a day of exploration in Shipshewana, Indiana’s Amish Country! We’ll start our day with a guided tour at the Menno-Hof cultural center, which teaches visitors about the faith and life of Amish and Mennonites. Their multi-image presentations, historical environments, and colorful displays will take us on a fascinating journey inside their unique world. Next, we’ll head to an Amish home for a traditional haystack meal, a build-your-own layered dish. It starts off with a base layer of crackers or rice, followed by your choice of meat, beans, vegetables, cheese and/or sauces. You’ll also have your choice of apple, blueberry, or butterscotch cream pie for dessert. We’ll then head back into town to enjoy the gigantic outdoor Shipshewana Flea Market, stopping to see a Quilt Garden or two along the Heritage Trail on our way. Be sure to bring your shopping bags, as you’ll find bargains on home decor, clothing, produce, plants, tools, crafts, books, beauty supplies, accessories, handmade items, vintage items and everything imaginable! Bring cash if you’d like to rent a scooter–rentals are $25 cash for 2 hours.
