It's Complicated: Sex, Gender, and the Limits of What We Were Taught (Spartan Spotlight)
Course | Registration opens 5/14/2026 8:00 AM EDT
Most of us learned that biological sex comes in two straightforward forms: male and female. Today, science presents a more complicated picture. Drawing on biology, medicine, and philosophy, this talk explores how sex is identified in the human body, why some people do not fit neatly into standard categories, and what natural variation looks like in human development. It also explains how gender identity and expression differ from biological sex, using clear language and accessible examples. No prior background is assumed, only curiosity.
