Coulsontown: A Welsh Village in America

Local Tour | Registration opens 5/14/2026 8:00 AM EDT

This is a guided tour of the world-famous Peach Bottom slate industry area and the homes built by the Welsh quarrymen in the 1850s. The tour will start at the Rehoboth Welsh Church (1029 Atom Rd, Delta, PA 17314) and include a graveyard with slate tombstones and Welsh cottages. Tour participants will use their own cars to travel between the sites. The tour will last approximately three hours, please bring your own drinks and snacks. Don Robinson

Don Robinson grew up in Cardiff, Maryland and currently lives in Delta, Pennsylvania. He graduated from North Harford High School and has a B.S. in management from York College of Pennsylvania. Robinson is retired from the Constellation/Exelon Corporation, and is the current project lead of the Welsh Cottages at Coulsontown, which are owned by The Old Line Museum of Delta.
