Course Description

This course is an introductory study of major career choices in the music and entertainment industry. Along with a bit of historical context, the course also explores the basics of music publishing, record production, and the concert industry.

Shawn Young

Dr. Shawn Young is professor of music and sociology and director of music industry studies at York College of Pennsylvania. Young currently serves as the vice president of the Music & Entertainment Industry Educators Association (MEIEA), a global organization that facilitates an exchange of information between educators and practitioners in order to prepare students for careers in the music and entertainment industries.
