How the American Revolution Intersected with the Civil War in York and Adams Counties

Course | Registration opens 5/14/2026 8:00 AM EDT

All roads lead to York County and the county is the center of the universe. No doubt. You'd be hard pressed to find another county north of  the Mason-Dixon Line with American Revolution and Civil War stories as rich. The 250th anniversaries of the Declaration of Independence and Articles of Confederation give us an opportunity to look at connections between the two wars, spaced only about eighty-five years apart. Jim McClure will present historical, cultural, and political connections between these two history-shaping eras in York County and national history.

Jim McClure is a retired editor of the York Daily Record and has authored or co-authored nine books on York County history, the most recent, Never to be Forgotten.
