On a Farm So Long Ago
Course | Registration opens 8/3/2026 8:00 AM EDT
This course briefly depicts the history and what life was like for the presenter and her family as they owned/operated their fruit farm and bakehouse in the 50s/60s in York County. It addresses the hard work and ethics of struggling to keep the land and business operating in spite of the many progressive changes going on around them and the difficult decisions that families are sometimes forced to make during life-altering times.
Pam Gay
Pam Gay recently retired as York County’s elected coroner, after 12 years. During her term, her team and she faced a significant increase in accidental drug deaths, most due to heroin and fentanyl. Gay partnered with the District Attorney’s Office to form a taskforce, now known as the York Opioid Collaborative, which works with multiple local organizations to educate, raise awareness, and help prevent the deaths due to opioid use disorder.
