Scientific Mysteries

Course | Registration opens 8/3/2026 8:00 AM EDT

Explore several mysteries faced by scientists, how they were solved, and the long-term impact of these discoveries. Cases to be investigated include a mystery surrounding the death of a man from Wilkes Barre, PA who died at the Hershey Medical Center in September 1991, a medical mystery from 1982 involving an emergency room doctor who was confronted with a patient who was “frozen” and an experiment that accidentally lead to the discovery of X-rays. Through the use of short videos, pictures, animations, and discussion, these and other mysteries of science will be examined.
