The Importance of Land Preservation in York County

This course will cover the importance of protection, conservation, and preservation of varied landscapes across York County, focusing mainly on the efforts of Farm & Natural Lands Trust (FNLT) of York County. FNLT is a non-profit organization, founded in 1990, that is dedicated to the preservation of critical agricultural and environmental natural resources in our community. FNLT achieves their work through a legally binding perpetual deed restriction called a conservation easement, which places permanent restrictions on private lands.
Sean Kenny
Sean P. Kenny is executive director of Farm & Natural Lands Trust of York County, a non-profit organization preserving land through conservation easements. FNLT has over 200 properties in their preservation family, more than 16,000 acres (and growing) of farmland, woodlands, wetlands and waterways. Kenny lives along the Heritage Rail Trail on a FNLT preserved farm with his family and serves on several local boards.
