The history of York’s black baseball from 1890-1953 will be discussed, featuring Hall of Famers Sol White and Josh Gibson, along with local favorites Jake Stephens, Fill Springfield, and Gene Clines. While this presentation will be York centric, questions on any aspect of Negro League baseball will be welcomed. Be prepared to learn about the other half of Major League Baseball during the 1st half of the 20th century.
