Not Just a Camera: Impressionism to Cubism: Artists Interpret What They See
Course | Registration opens 12/7/2026 8:00 AM EDT
"Why are the colors wrong?" "How come it looks so fuzzy?" "Why can't artists just create normal pictures?" If these are your thoughts as you're looking at a piece of modern art, you are not alone! This class is the second in a set of four stand-alone sessions that will help you see the big picture and appreciate modern and contemporary art. In this class, we will trace the progression of modern art movements from Impressionism and Art Nouveau through Cubism, showing how art was greatly influenced by world events and the Industrial Revolution. You will finally gain an understanding of Picasso!
