The Original Murals of York and the Growing Popularity of Public Art in York County

Course | Registration opens 2/1/2027 8:00 AM EDT

About the year 2000, artists created 18 large-scale murals and 15 mini-murals on buildings around York: the Murals of York. Since then, the city and other communities around York County commissioned artists to create public art. That art includes the sculptures of Lorann Jacobs and most recently is evidenced by the seven beautifully painted America 250 bells dedicated in towns throughout the county. Jim McClure will talk about the growing popularity of public art in the past 25 years, focusing on the original Murals of York.
