Modern Art #3: Artists React to Times of Chaos: Expressionism, Dada, Social Realism, and More!
Course | Registration opens 2/1/2027 8:00 AM EDT
“How can something so ugly be art?” "What does it mean?" "A urinal – seriously?" If these are your thoughts as you’re looking at a piece of modern art, you are not alone! Many people wish they knew more about modern art. This class is the third in a set of four stand-alone sessions that will help you see the big picture and appreciate modern and contemporary art. In this class, we will explore how world wars and social changes affected artists in many ways, resulting in a variety of modern art movements. We will also discover how modern art came to the USA.
