The Neighbor Experience: Ensuring a Dignified Experience at a Food Bank

Course | Registration opens 2/1/2027 8:00 AM EDT

When we think about food insecurity, we often focus on food itself. However, for many of our neighbors, the biggest obstacle isn't a lack of food on our shelves—it is everyday barriers required to reach it. Long lines, limited hours, and location can often dictate whether a neighbor can visit a food bank. This course offers community members a look at friction points that turn a trip for emergency food into a stressful or even an impossible task. Participants will engage in real-life scenarios and share thoughts on how to make a neighbor's experience at a food bank one of dignity and respect.
