In this introductory class, students will learn color fundamentals including intensity, value and mixing, along with a variety of watercolor techniques. Classwork will include exercises, several small painting projects and exposure to different styles of watercolor painting.

  • Brushes, paints, pencils and erasers to use during class are provided. Please bring a watercolor pad at least 9 x 12 to the first class or purchase a large single watercolor sheet that we can cut into smaller pieces. Good quality cold press watercolor paper (at least 140 pound weight) can be obtained at Meiningers or Guiry’s art supply stores. Good paper will allow you to fully explore the possibilities of this medium.
