From start to finish we will learn the foundations of portrait painting. Appropriate for novice and experienced creators who have a passion for beauty, whimsy, and the unusual. Using photo references as a starting point, we will focus on finding your personal creative voice. We will cover feature placement, proportions, and value. Preferred medium is oil paint, but acrylic is acceptable.

  • All materials will be provided by the instructor.

Jen focused seriously on ballet and modern dance throughout her childhood and adult life. She has a BA in Performance Art from the University of MD. In 2015 she took an on-line art class that propelled her into the world of two-dimensional art. No stranger to discipline, she has dedicated herself to continually learning from master artists, a demanding studio practice, showing her work, and teaching at the Art Student League of Denver and Curtis Center for the Arts. In addition, she is a member of Pirate Contemporary Art in Denver CO.
