Jeffrey Hirst has exhibited his work throughout the United States and Europe since 1990 and has his MFA from Louisiana State University and BFA from the University of Minnesota. His work has been showcased at national and international venues including the Minneapolis Institute of Art; The Holter Museum, Helen, Montana; Addington Gallery, Chicago, McKinney Contemporary, Dallas, McLean Project for the Art, McLean, VA, and Bienal do Douro, Portugal. Hirst has been a visiting artist at universities around the United States conducting painting and printmaking workshops and has taught workshops at NCSW-Bennington College in VT, Arrowmont School for the Arts in TN, Truro Center for the Arts in MA, Cullowhee Mountain Arts in NC, and has been an annual presenter at the International Encaustic Conference in MA. Hirst is the owner of Hirst Printmaking, a printmaking shop specializing in intaglio, hybrid processes, screenprinting, and experimental approaches towards combining printmaking and painting. In 2005, Hirst pioneered the process of combining silkscreen and encaustic painting and has conducted workshops on the process throughout the United States. Hirst is a recipient of the Minnesota State Arts Board grant, the DCASE City of Chicago Individual Artist grant and was awarded a fellowship residency at the Ballinglen Arts Foundation in County Mayo, Ireland. Hirst is represented by Addington Gallery in Chicago and Brandt-Roberts Galleries in Columbus, Ohio. His work is in numerous public and private collections including Ballinglen Arts Foundation, Arcstone Technologies, Grant Thornton International, Great River Energy, SAP America, and Southern Graphics Council.
