Description: This 3-hour small group workshop will focus on basic principles of paper engineering to create dynamic pop-up structures. The class will begin with an introduction to pop-up books and the foundational mechanisms. Through demonstration and hands-on work students will build on the basic folds and learn more elaborate mechanisms. The latter portion of the course will be individual exploration of the mechanisms with instructor guidance to create more complex and realized pop-up spreads. This workshop is open to all skill levels and ages, and will include instructional prompts for intermediate and advanced pop-up artists in attendance.
