Toh, Heinrich

Heinrich Toh is a studio artist & educator based in Kansas City, MO. A graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art and and the La Salle College of the Arts in Singapore where he grew up. He has taught numerous workshops at Art Centers and Institutions the past 16 years. His work is in public and private collections that include the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art,  the Albrecht-Kemper Museum, the Truman Medical Center, the Loews Kansas City Convention Center Hotel, the University Hospital of Cleveland, and the Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin, TX. He has exhibited internationally and extensively in the United States. They include the Wing Luke Asian Museum, Bellevue Art Museum; with an upcoming group exhibit at the Nelson-Atkins Museum and solo exhibit at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum this fall. Also in galleries spanning the past 20 years, with numerous awards for excellence in printmaking. Residencies he has participated at include the Pratt Fine Arts Center, Vermont Studio Center, Penland School of Crafts, and the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts. His work explores the evolution of identity, memories of past and present, and the definition of home. When not making art, he loves spending time in the kitchen creating culinary bedlam and cooks a mean dish of noodles.
