What are your favorite winter holiday memories? As the days get shorter and temperatures drop, we start busying ourselves preparing for the holiday season, but many of us don't take the time to reflect on the holidays of yesteryear. The Art Students League of Denver and the Museum of Food and Culture invite you to spend a friendsgiving-style evening reminiscing and crafting.

Invite friends and family, bring your stories and pictures, and join us as we make holiday memory books. ASLD instructor Ashlae Shepler and Rachel Waugh, executive director of MFC, will lead participants through simple book-making, collage, and storytelling techniques designed to inspire your unique handcrafted keepsake.

While you sip on holiday mocktails, you will:

  • Learn how to create a handmade book,
  • Create memorable collages,
  • Improve your storytelling,
  • Reminisce with family and friends, and
  • Spread some holiday cheer!

  • This workshop is offered in partnership with The Museum of Food & Culture.

Ashlae Shepler is an artist who enjoys experimenting with old cameras and historic photography techniques. As a freelance creative, she loves collaborating with creative teams, and she has served clients in fine arts organizations, small businesses and higher education. Her fine art photography has been exhibited in galleries located in Dallas, Texas; Chicago, Illinois; Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Denver, Colorado. When she's not in the studio, she's hiking trails along the front range or cuddling with her cat.
