Ages 8-10 | Screen Printing for Fun

In this fun-filled, hands-on course, participants will learn and apply the basis of screenprinting with hand cut stencils, and be able to print a multi-colored artwork of their own design. Emphasis will be on the range of experimentation and creative expression possible with the media, and participants will be encouraged to focus on engaging with the technique and process. Mixed Media elements may be added to enhance or alter the prints.
- All materials are included in the materials fee and will be provided at ASLD. Please bring an image on paper to work from (approx 8x10 or smaller). Bring an apron or wear grungy art making clothes. ** optional: you may bring a t-shirt on the last day of class to print on.
Emerson Alexander
Emerson Alexander is a printmaker, fiber lover and visual artist from Denver, Colorado. She received her BFA from from the Maryland Institute College of Art in May 2022; graduating Magna Cum Laude in printmaking and humanities with minors in illustration and book arts.
Her work is largely filled with references to an obsession with printed ephemera and bygone eras. She frequently blends history and accessibility into her classes, with the goal of exposing young artists to many different mediums and their connection to the world around them.
