Ages 14-17 | Colorful Gelatin Prints
KA Summer Camp | This program is completed
An excellent introduction to printmaking, gelatin printing explores color mixing and layering in a spontaneous way. This class will use plant-based inks to make one-of-a-kind monotype prints as students learn to use printmaking tools to roll colorful ink onto a soft gelatin plate and transfer images with stencils, photo transfers, and drawing techniques. We will explore printing on paper and fabric using alternative materials including found objects and plant material. Students will leave the class with a portfolio of unique prints and the knowledge to continue making prints at home.
- Students are encouraged to bring an apron or large oversized t-shirt to protect their clothing. Gelatin prints make a wonderful, colorful mess that cleans up with water.
- All supplies are included in the materials fee and will be provided at ASLD.
