Transferring Images to Paper, Fabric or Board held at Denver Botanic Gardens:

Archival, tried and true transfer techniques using toner based copies and gel medium to perfect both black and white and color transfers. These can be used for mixed media projects, card making, and stitching projects.

Students will learn face to face transfers, gel skin transfers, china pencil transfers onto either paper, fabric or board and how to enhance and integrate with acrylic paint, pan pastels and pen.

  • This 2-day workshop will be held at Denver Botanic Gardens.
  • First class bring: Images to be transferred; selections of paper such as strong watercolor paper, board, and canvas.

Jo Fitsell is an artist and teacher working with fiber, paper, paint and the stitched line. Her art has been exhibited nationally and internationally. In Colorado, her artwork is in Kaiser Permanente, The Center for Health Sciences at Lowry and The Denver Seminary. Jo currently teaches at The Art Students League in Denver and is a “Think 360” artist-in-resident and has enjoyed many rewarding collaborations with young people.  She is one of the founders of Front Range Contemporary Quilters. Interweave Press has published her DVD on Marbling. Jo contributed to The Denver Art Museum’s Thread Studio exhibit and has published various articles.
