Quieting the mind and allowing movements, messages, and insights inspired by nature helps artists connect more deeply to their subject matter and results in more original work. Exercises in drawing freely, trusting intuition, considering energy patterns, mark making are used. Students of all levels are invited to work in their chosen medium. Designs from this class can be carried forward into drawing, painting, mixed-media, fiber art and ceramics. Students will also be invited to explore new tools.

Creativity exercises using observational experiences in nature, walking meditations, body movements, found object compositions, gathering items from nature, blind walks and expressive drawing exercises. Inks, graphite crayons, watercolor crayons, acrylic paints, pens, waxed papers and pens.

  • For the first class just bring a sketch pad and any pens or pencils. Additional supplies will be announced in-between classes but will only consist of basic art supplies.
