Are you inspired by nature? Does the work of Andy Goldsworthy motivate you? This one day workshop is an immersive introduction into Earth Art which is a form of art making revolving around the natural world. Typically outside (we will be) Earth works are inspired by, ideated in, created with, and set in nature. From start to finish you will learn how to take in your surroundings, develop a plan, and execute a piece to be left to the elements. As well as, elements of design, site specific installation and documentation.

Supplies: easily carried sketchbook and drawing materials, a camera or smartphone for documentation, anything needed for outdoor comfort such as a hat, sunscreen, water bottle.

  • This class will be held off-site.

    This workshop may be in a location where walking on unlevel and possibly rugged ground - if any student who is unable to meet this physical requirement wants to take the workshop to let me know ASAP so I can set the location where more access is available.

    Students will receive more information from the instructor prior to class.
  • Dress for the weather as we will be spending all our time outside. Bring any snacks and water you may want for the day, a camera to document your work (a smartphone is fine), and a sketchbook and marking material if you wish, but they are not needed.
