Understanding color theory is one of the most efficient ways to improve your artwork, but it can feel daunting and difficult to understand. This in-depth but beginner-friendly class will help take theory into reality while relaxing fears about color. Each class session includes a color theory painting “exercise” and time dedicated to painting from a still life. An extensive color wheel, learning how to see color, and focus on lighting with a dash of beginners acrylic painting skills are key ingredients to this course. So, come take your art to next level and dive into color theory! This session is taught using acrylic paints and materials, but lucky for you, all the supplies will be provided! Just bring yourself and a big desire to learn!
- Several small/medium sized brushes, a water cup, a surface for mixing paint (palette is suggested), palette knife, pencil, rags, at least SIX 8”x10” or 11”X14” canvases (or canvas board), bottles (4oz or bigger) of acrylic paint in the colors Titanium white, Mars Black, Cadmium Red Medium hue, Cadmium Yellow Medium Hue, and Cobalt blue.
