Food Stories in Collage

Adult Course | Available

Our relationships with food carry strong memories and experiences, especially during the holidays. Explore your story telling capabilities through the medium of collage. We'll learn some collaging techniques as well as compositional strategies to lead a view through your narrative.

Morning: Introduction to collage techniques and history. Compositional strategies for creating powerful and understandable work. Working through specifics of individual stories, feelings and memories (who, what, where, when). Afternoon: Creation of individual collage works.

  • All materials included but students may wish to bring personal memorabilia (papers, letters, photos) that lend themselves to family or personal experience. Please make copies of these items if you don't wish to use them directly in your collage. Students may also collect thin fabrics such as lace or other stencil materials for the workshop.
