Just Do It! How Not to Make Mud: Painting with Color A

Adult Course | Registration closed 12/5/2024

"If you hear a voice within you saying 'You are not a painter' then by all means, paint... and that voice will be silenced." -Vincent Van Gogh

It's so fun to use a lot of color, so let's play! This class is geared for all levels with a goal towards developing your own style of painting. We all have an untapped reservoir of creativity within us .

You will work on two 30x40 canvases for the length of the class. Reworking each canvas every week to continually experiment with all the elements of art - visual components of color, form, line, shape, space, texture, and value.

  • This course will be held 5 Thursdays 12/5, 12/12, 12/19, 1/9, & 1/16

This class explores tools and techniques in painting to help you develop a painting style that is within you and is your own, tailored to develop your own painting voice. We will explore color, hue, value, and composition by painting on muliplie canvases simultaneously and developing new ideas over the weeks. Utilize various medias within the paint, such as raw charcoal sketch, wax, or texture. Have fun and play! Try new techniques and materials with your painting.
