Great Glazing

Adult Course | Registration opens 1/8/2025 7:00 AM MST

There are several options when it comes to decorating and glazing, which can make this step of making things in clay intimidating. This course is designed for all levels of students who are wanting to learn how to glaze properly, decorate or improve on their current finishing applications. Bring ceramic pieces ready to glaze - hand built or thrown, trimmed greenware or bisque.

With an extensive knowledge and background in ceramics, Heidi will answer many questions about decorating and glazing. During class she will demonstrate various decoration techniques on green and bisque projects and show the process of properly mixing and applying glaze to bisque ware that will allow confidence to build and make more informed decicions about your precious creations.

This class is open to both Wheel-Throwing and Hand-Building students.

  • Each class includes a standard weekly lab fee which covers the cost of firing and glazing.

Currently enrolled students have access to Ceramic open studio for a $10 fee. Please see the easel in the hallway for updated open studio hours. For this workshop, Open studio may only be utilized between the week of the first and second class, and is for glazing only.

Please review the ceramics studio policies before attending the first class: CERAMICS STUDIO POLICIES
