Garment Alterations Workshop
Adult Course | Registration opens 12/3/2024 7:00 AM MST
Have you always wanted to learn to alter your own clothes? If so, this is the workshop for you! In this 1.5 day workshop, you will learn the basics of simple garment alterations and then work on altering your own pieces. On the first day of the workshop, you will have an appointment time to be fitted by the instructor. Then come back the next day for a full day of learning the basics and practicing your new skills.
Please bring 3-4 garments to alter. There will be a 1 hour lunch break on Saturday (lunch not provided).
This class meets:
Friday 1/31: 12:30pm-4pm
Saturday 2/1: 9am-4pm
- Basic sewing machine knowledge required
- 3-4 garments to alter, matching thread color, zippers or buttons to replace, anything else you think you might need to alter your garments
Christina Patzman
Christina Patzman comes from a long line of seamstresses and jokes that she learned how to sew in her mother's womb. Her grandmother was a dressmaker for 40 years and taught Christina clothing design and sewing with a hands-on and practical approach. Christina started making clothing while in junior high and continued designing and sewing throughout high school. She studied apparel design in college – receiving a BA in Apparel Design in 1991. Christina has had several lines of clothing that have sold both locally and nationally. She has been teaching sewing classes since 2008, and especially loves helping students with garment design and construction.
