Create a Landscape Art Quilt

Adult Course | Registration opens 3/4/2025 7:00 AM MST

If you have always loved fabric and want to translate it into a wonderful art quilt this class is for you. You can create a landscape, a cityscape, an abstract , or a figurative piece. If you are nervous about figure drawing, come and relax, use fabric and have the freedom to be abstract. Learn how to compose a design that you then create with pieces of fabric into a  expressive art quilt. You will use collage technique and then free motion stitching to create texture and interest. Class is good for both experienced quilters and those who have never quilted before.

A Six Week Class of Creating an Expressive Art Quilt: Everyone can experience the wonderful creativity of making a piece of art that expresses beauty, a place, an emotion, or a personality. This class is appropriate for people who have never quilted and those with lots of experience. Everyone can learn new techniques and have a rewarding experience. I firmly believe everyone is creative in their own way and can enjoy the experience creating art using of textiles, paint, and stitching.

Learning objectives: Have fun while you use fabric, paint and stitch to create a fabulous art quilt. Learn techniques that are freer and more creative than any other work you have done. Finish at least one large piece that is frame able.
