KA Summer Camp | Registration opens 1/21/2025 7:00 AM MST
Learn how to make a print using household recycling stuff! We will use Tetrapak containers (think ½ gallon milk cartons or juice boxes) as plates for making an intaglio print. In this class, we’ll discuss printmaking techniques like chine colle (adding other paper to your print), drypoint methods, and color theory. Students will learn how to operate an etching press, work on composition skills, and get better at mixing colors accurately.
- Sharp tools are used in this class. printmaking is messy- please wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty
Ren Cannon
Ren (they/them) is an artist based in Denver, CO. They have a BFA in Fibers and Drawing from Colorado State University in Ft. Collins although they primarily work as a printmaker and potter right now. They think that the best way to learn is to experiment, make mistakes, and gain some knowledge rather than seeking perfection. When not in the studio, Ren likes to ride bikes, pet dogs, learn about science and nature, and try new things.
