Boxmaking Fundamentals Mini-Series

Adult Course | Registration opens 5/6/2025 7:00 AM MDT

In this beginners 2-day mini course, students will focus on the fundamental skills for building several types of boxes: a paper folded portfolio, a slipcase, and a small lidded box.

As a fundamentals class, all the components and materials will be cut and prepared. This allows students to focus on the assembly and craft of the box, and learn the skills needed to make them again.

We will discuss unconventional structures and creative modifications, so bring your sketches and questions.

Learning Objectives:
Folding, measuring basics, gluing and assembling box pieces, formulas for cutting box pieces yourself, and traditional techniques for covering boxes with paper.
