Art of the Nature Doodle
Adult Course | Registration opens 5/6/2025 7:00 AM MDT
A not so serious drawing class outdoors. Everyone can doodle - no experience necessary. Armed with a few fancy tools and tricks of the artist’s trade come elevate your doodle and draw inspiration from a range of different plants and atmospheres.
As writer Matthew Battles puts it, “[doodling] is beyond craft and criticism; it belongs to us all; it’s impossible to do it badly--or well.”
Materials list:
a sketchpad (around 9x12 - something comfortable to carry)
variety of your favorite drawing tools: pencil, three or more ballpoint pens (multiple colors- Pilot, and InkJoy work great), colored pencils, charcoal, markers, etc.
One piece of medium weight watercolor or printmaking paper 9x12 or larger (my favorite is Rives BFK)
Gesso (an 8oz bottle is enough)
a 1"-2" sponge brush or gesso brush
