Ages 8-10 | Sew Cool Studio
Children Course | Registration opens 8/5/2025 10:00 AM MDT
Beginners will learn all parts of the sewing machine and how to use it safely. Advanced beginners will review the machine and threading instructions. By stitching on straight and wavy lines students can increase eye/hand coordination and control. In the first class students will complete a small, pieced strip "quilt." They will learn how to use a serger and serge the seams and outside edges. No machine experience is required for this class.
Next, students will begin a pillow with their initial zigzagged on the front. During the second class, they will finish their pillow and start an elastic waist pant or shorts. The third and fourth classes have them finishing the pant with serged seams. The last project is a lined tote bag with outside pocket. They will start this halfway through the fourth class and finish on the last class. Students and parents are amazed and proud of how much they accomplish and have learned.
- Supplies will be provided by ASLD
