Linocuts on Clay- Make a Reusable, Reproducible Print!
Adult Course | Registration opens 8/6/2025 10:00 AM MDT
In this class, we will use a relief printmaking technique to make prints with underglaze on ceramics! We will carve small linoleum blocks, talk about how to carve the back of the block to make it work with a round surface, and make prints. You can use linocuts to produce patterns or use an individual block with an image- whatever you like. Everyone will leave with some printed test tiles, your linocut blocks, and the ability to reproduce the technique on your own! If you love printmaking, this is a great chance to try printing on clay. No prior experience required with ceramics or printmaking.
- This workshop does not allow students access to open studios unless concurrently enrolled in another ceramics class.
- All materials will be provided for this class including linoleum blocks, carving gauges, brayers, underglazes and premade clay times to print on!
Ren Cannon
Ren (they/them) is an artist based in Denver, CO. They have a BFA in Fibers and Drawing from Colorado State University in Ft. Collins although they primarily work as a printmaker and potter right now. They think that the best way to learn is to experiment, make mistakes, and gain some knowledge rather than seeking perfection. When not in the studio, Ren likes to ride bikes, pet dogs, learn about science and nature, and try new things.
