Sharp Tools, Sharp Pots: a primer on clay tool sharpening and maintenance
Adult Course | Registration opens 8/6/2025 10:00 AM MDT
Do you find that your tools aren’t working so great lately? Are they tragically dull and clogged with clay? Great news! There’s an easy way to solve this problem! Sharpen your tools! In this workshop, we will use simple hand tools to go over our kit to make sure everything is nice and sharp. We’ll also talk about conditioning your wood tools and any other questions you may have. If you don’t own a lot of trimming tools yet, you can practice on ASLD’s clay tools.
- This workshop does not allow students access to open studios unless concurrently enrolled in another ceramics class.
- All materials will be provided for this class
Ren Cannon
Ren (they/them) is an artist based in Denver, CO. They have a BFA in Fibers and Drawing from Colorado State University in Ft. Collins although they primarily work as a printmaker and potter right now. They think that the best way to learn is to experiment, make mistakes, and gain some knowledge rather than seeking perfection. When not in the studio, Ren likes to ride bikes, pet dogs, learn about science and nature, and try new things.
