Ages 8-10 | Color Explorers
KA Summer Camp | Registration opens 1/20/2026 10:00 AM MST
A playful introduction to the world of color. Students learn how color works through hands-on painting exercises, fun experiments, and creative projects.
Students will learn:
• Primary, secondary, and complementary colors
• Warm vs. cool colors
• How to mix colors to create mood
• Basic brush handling
• Simple composition
Projects examples:
• Mixing primary colors to create color wheels
• Painting emotions with color (happy = yellow, calm = blue, etc.)
• “Color scavenger hunt” in the classroom—find objects that match a color palette
• Simple landscape or still-life paintings using limited palettes
