Sampler: Creative Approach to Painting with Color

Are you bored painting what you see in real color? Learn skills that will help you understand how to use expressive colors using your own imagination. This class will start with a drawing of your choice using flowers or foliage. Exploration of color mixing and blending will help you understand the final painting. Color decisions will be explored before your painting begins.
Ability Level: Intermediate to Advanced experience in drawing and painting
Pencil, white eraser, pencil sharpener
Paints in acrylic, oil, or watercolor (experience in your media choice is necessary)
Various brushes (including a detail brush)
Supplies needed for your media selection, i.e., palette, water container, paper towels…
Painting paper, board, or canvas in 8”x 8” OR 8” x 10”
3 sheets of computer paper or drawing paper
Real or Fake flowers/foliage, or photos of the subject you would like to paint
