Adult Class | Registration opens 5/5/2026 9:00 AM MDT
This class is a simple introduction to woodcut printmaking using watercolor to print multiple colors on one block by hand and without a press! A simple v shaped line is carved into a block of wood to delineate an outline drawing. Each shape is painted with watercolor over which paper is placed and rubbed down to print the image. The carved line will not print, giving the print as the name describes, a white line around the colorful shapes. A truly American printmaking technique developed in Provincetown, Massachusetts in 1915 by artists that wanted to simply woodcut printmaking!
