ONLINE Slow to Expression: Drawing, Painting & Mixed Media
Intergenerational | Registration opens 5/5/2026 9:00 AM MDT
This workshop explores slowness as a generative method in visual art. Working through drawing, painting, and mixed media processes, participants investigate how sustained attention and gradual mark-making can deepen form, composition, and material presence.
Each session begins with a brief perceptual grounding exercise and moves into extended studio time focused on layering, repetition, and surface development. Emphasis is placed on process, material dialogue, and compositional clarity rather than speed or product-driven outcomes.
The course supports artists interested in cultivating depth, restraint, and intentionality within their visual practice.
Adriana Rondón
I am a visual and performance artist from Caracas, Venezuela, living in California. I use my body, photography, video and poetry to tell stories. My work is about my healing journey and my connection with my surroundings. I am interested in using performances and poetic actions that use movement, elements of the plastic arts and technological resources as means of expression. My work is influenced by dance, yoga and my meditations. I am interested in community, people and the social fabric of the city, and incorporating these elements in my artistic work. I use the streets as my stage and allow the participation of the spectators in my work.
