Sampler: Chine Colle Party Friday

Attention collage fans! Try a new way to combine multiple paper elements in a new way with chine colle - a process that uses wheat paste to adhere your collage pieces to paper using an etching press. We will go over the process and make some simple drypoint plates to incorporate drawings into your collage. This is a fun, experimental sampler session!
- Quick introduction to the studio, with examples of prints that incorporate chine colle. Demonstration of technique with time for everyone to work.
- If you have images you want to collage into your piece, bring them along! Chine Colle works best with thinner paper (like printer paper or lighter kozo or mulberry papers).
Ren Cannon
Ren (they/them) is an artist based in Denver, CO. They have a BFA in Fibers and Drawing from Colorado State University in Ft. Collins although they primarily work as a printmaker and potter right now. They think that the best way to learn is to experiment, make mistakes, and gain some knowledge rather than seeking perfection. When not in the studio, Ren likes to ride bikes, pet dogs, learn about science and nature, and try new things.
