Narrative Collage: Telling Personal Stories

Adult Class | Registration opens 8/4/2026 9:00 AM MDT

Collages can become a confusing mass of images, so our focus is how arrangement of line, shape, color, image, and movement can clearly communicate a narrative. We’ll create some small practice studies followed by specific story prompts as we explore ways to effectively tell a story through collage. What stories do you want to tell?

All required materials are included, but feel free to bring any printed/patterned papers you may already have on hand, as well as personal paper ephemera. You can also bring any special art tools you like to use.

  • No experience required, collage is a very accessible media for all levels.

  • All materials are furnished, however students may want to bring personal memorabilia like letters, pictures, or decorative papers that they have on hand.
